17-40mm and the 430exII

Well, the Canon 430exII is on its way, should be here before the weekend. It will give me plenty of time to play around with it and get comfortable come prom, Merrimack graduation, and highschool graduation.

I'm excited to get into more portrait and event work. I'm thinking about photographing personal events and possibly get into Weddings (as I build experience) as a side job to support the ever increasing expenses of a college life haha.

I don't know if maybe Ian you would be interested in teaming up, I know you have a real job now lol. But I figure hey why sit around on evenings and weekends when we could make a few bucks doing what we love best.

More pictures to be up very soon including some from the italy trip.

Early in the season, Mency takes an ally-hoop pass from Duncan (Bob Cousy award nominee) and slams it home. I thought it might be cool to splice the shots together, the action along with the expression on Duncan's face makes for a fantastic shot!

Merrimack's DII Basketball program has really flourished under these two who have one more year left. We have made two straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament and finished the year with a 21-9 record. They're a really great duo to photograph, they really feed off each-other's intensities.

11pm Dawn

I apologize for the delay, but here's the next picture I'm putting up. As you can see by the title this was taken at 11pm at night with a shutter speed of around 75 seconds. For those of you familiar with Arlington, this is the swing set at Skyline park. The bright light in the background is coming from Boston which if I was further up the hill on the left you could easily see.

I chose to keep the grain in the photo, I feel that it kind of adds to the surrealness. I love the colors that come out of long nighttime exposures. This was taken on my Rebel XTi.
